All-dielectric self-supporting (ADSS) cable is a type of optical fiber cable that is strong enough to support itself between structures without using conductive metal elements. It is used by electrical utility companies as a communications medium, installed along existing overhead transmission lines and often sharing the same support structures as the electrical conductors.ADSS is an alternative to OPGW and OPAC with lower installation cost. The cables are designed to be strong enough to allow lengths of up to 700 meters to be installed between support towers. ADSS cable is designed to be lightweight and small in diameter to reduce the load on tower structures due to cable weight, wind, and ice.
– Characteristics of product:
- Small diameter, light weight, the span cam reach to 1500m, with a low additional load to the tower.
- Strong anti-pull performance, more than 90KN.
- Non-metallic structure, good insulated performance, thunder-proof.
- The equality sparn and good performance when meeting an emergency.
- Good performance of anti-gun and anti-erode
- Suitable for bad climate.
- Can work without electric stop.
- Structure characteristic Loose tube and non-metallic strengthen High flexible , can work under the environment at electric fieldsd≤25KV/m.
-Product Applications:
- ADSS cable is suspended in the electrical field due to the phase conductors
- ADSS is good for the worst-case combinations of temperature, ice load, and wind environments
- As a communications medium, installed along existing overhead transmission lines and often sharing the same support structures as the electrical conductors.
- Utilized for telecommunications by power utilities, telcos, and private network groups
- Designed for installation on distribution and transmission lines
- Capable of being installed in close proximity to conductors if security is a concern
- Suitable for underbuild applications, minimizing the need for outages
- Used for telecommutenetworks where quick, low-cost installation is a priority
